Installing Linux alongside Windows is very easy , because Linux can handle the partitions and fix some work around , however , on a Mac its another Story .
So in this video we do some steps and I will try to explain in a easy way .
Tools and files you will Need :
For the Mac - refind (efi bootloader)
You will need the ISO of Linux Mint 18.2 MATE desktop and you will need to burn a bootable USB drive , from the ISO Linux File .. That can be done with Power ISO 4.9 or in Linux mint 18.2 very easy ..
Also we will have to modify the MAC Harddisk
and thanks to the build in Disk utility in MAC it's just some clicks and logic thinking and your done ..
Is this all worted to do on a MACBOOK Pro 7.1 ?
Depends .. Sometimes you want to keep work and private separated and if you only have 1 device , this can be handy , also to do sertain tasks that fail in Mac such as stable screen recordings with QuickTime in Mac to me more QUITTIME cause it quits on me all the time in the middle of a recording .
Also browsing is faster safer and more privacy while discovering the internet , only those that know will confirm this ..
Also with Linux Mint 18.3 you will have a stable OS with daily security Updates even before other OS'ses will even get them ..
Many reasons to have a Linux Mint Device , standalone or as second OS in your MAC Windows Machine or on that Laptop or Pc you dont use anymore even do it has a Celeron Processor and at least 1 GB ram ...
